José Marques da Silva was a Portuguese architect and educator. He began studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Porto. In 1889, he moved to Paris, where he attended the studio of Victor Laloux and Charles Lemaresquier at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts. He graduated in 1896 and returned to Portugal, where, alongside his own practice, he taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in Porto from 1906.
