Biography
Inken Baller is a German architect who was born in Denmark but primarily lived and worked in West Berlin, where from 1967 to 1989 she, alongside her husband Hinrich Baller, created a series of organically designed apartment buildings, school facilities, and sports venues that referenced the interwar creations of Bruno Taut, Hugo Häring, and Hanse Scharoun in their poetic composition. From 1985, she was a visiting professor (and from 1989 a full professor) at the University of Kassel. From 1996 to 2007, she headed the Institute for Building Design at BTU Cottbus.
