6th year of the outdoor meeting WiFič VEN! (1st–2nd September 2023) this year enriched for the first time by a larger representation at exhibitions. In previous years, current industrial design was primarily presented here – one of the production halls transformed into an exhibition space for two days. Now, there are more such pop-up galleries, along with medium-term outdoor exhibitions. A complementary program was also prepared for the exhibitions, which met with great interest from visitors. Behind these activities stands the new platform Pole designu, through which the company Egoé continues its creatively educational endeavors (project panta rhei, magazine 519, public ceramics courses Art Workshop).
Thanks to the new platform Pole designu, its founder will now systematically and long-term focus on promoting and educating in the "field of design" in the form of exhibitions and other activities. In addition to its own summer outdoor meeting WiFič VEN!, the company wants to interestingly present the story of the birth of quality design and its significance for our lives to visitors in its area throughout the year (!) directly in situ, on the site of the former agricultural cooperative, including the operation of the gallery and a freely accessible campsite. This brownfield has been cultivated for 15 years due to the enlightened approach of the owner – in collaboration with renowned authors, it has been transformed urbanistically and architecturally into a production-educational campus. Now it also includes medium-term exhibitions that recall not only the creation of the product "from idea to product" but also the history of the Bílovice brownfield and its iconic products.
POLE DESIGNU – "You are entering a laboratory of private and public space. We make the work of development teams visible, where the role of the industrial designer is irreplaceable.Pole designu is an educational platform for professionals, students, and the wider public."
SHORT-TERM EXHIBITIONS during WiFič VEN! (1st–2nd September 2023)
Influences or we learn from eagles – Bauhaus, Ulm, Zlín, Dieter Rams & BRAUN spray lacquer shop, ground floor of building B, interior / The exhibition offered an introduction to inspiring works by leading world and Czech designers (Dieter Rams, František Crhák, etc.). This year, it focused especially on significant centers that set the direction for the development of industrial design in the 20th century, both here and around the world: Bauhaus, Ulm, Zlín.
Hats off wet lacquer shop / Large-format documentation of the birth and realization of the new headquarters of Kloboucká lesní from the Mjölk studio. The context of sustainable architecture is the primary idea of the administrative building, which was created through a unique dialogue between the investor and the architects, and where the important component was also the adjacent space in the production area, managing rainwater and emphasizing energy self-sufficiency. Here we can already speak of a "Czech" approach meeting world standards in designing buildings with a carbon footprint of zero. After the opening of the exhibition, a discussion followed with its creators (Mjölk architects / Filip Cerha; designer Pavel Srba) about the project itself and the genesis of the entire building, but also about sustainable architecture, timber constructions, and bold steps.
Tvarůžek hall E1 / Authentic industrial and non-decorative design from the creative workshop of Martin Tvarůžek transformed a production hall into an industrial gallery with large-format photographs that showcased a collection of internationally acclaimed realizations, including the Locust 904/1004 skid loader (Red Dot Design Award 2023, Best of the Best) and the Recognoil 3W device designed for detecting and measuring surface grease (Red Dot Design Award 2023). Visitors had the opportunity to personally examine and appreciate the exhibited Locust 904 among the prints.
