Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. In 1969, he established his own studio. In 1978, he and his wife Eileen founded the firm Optima, which, in addition to design work, also handled construction, financing, and subsequent sales. Since then, Optima has built more than 5,000 apartments and 7 single-family homes. In 2019, he was named an honorary member of the American Institute of Architects.
