Biography
Cesar Portela Fernandez-Jardon studied architecture at the technical universities ETSAM in Madrid and ETSAB in Barcelona. After obtaining his master's degree in 1996, he received his doctorate at ETSAM two years later.
He has served as a visiting professor at international institutions and schools in Pamplona, Spain, Nancy, France, Caracas, Venezuela, Lisbon, Portugal, and Weimar, Germany. He has led numerous seminars and architectural workshops such as the one in Santiago de Compostela, which he organized in 1974 together with Aldo Rossi. Other workshops he led took place in Naples, Seville, or Barcelona. He was also the director of the 4th architectural biennale in Santander, Spain. Recently, he led seminars 'Culture and Nature: Architecture and Landscape' at the Menendez Pelayo University in American Georgia and at the Bauhaus University in Weimar, Germany. César Portela has worked for over twenty years as a professor at ETSA in La Coruña, Galicia.
