Biography
Carlo Aymonino was an Italian post-war architect and urban planner. He studied architecture under
Marcello Piacentini at the university in Rome, graduating in 1950. He participated in a number of housing projects. From 1957 to 1965, he wrote for the magazine Casabella and contributed to lively architectural debates. In 1957, he was a founding member of S.A.U. (Society for Urban Planning and Architecture). In 1960, he founded Studio AYDE (together with his brother Maurizio Aymonino, Baldo De Rossi, and Aldessandro De Rossi).
