A family house for four members is located in the suburban zone of the city of Frýdek-Místek, in a position between the city and the village, in an area where houses stood and where further "densification" with new family house constructions is currently taking place.
The building is situated on a flat plot of land to maximize the benefits of favorable orientation to the cardinal directions. The plot is oriented along its longer sides in the northeast-southwest direction. A new road runs along the northeastern side, and access is proposed from here. This side, facing the street, has a minimal number of window openings. The opposite side, oriented to the southwest, is the garden side, where the windows of all living rooms are located, including large corner glazing in the living room. The plot will be enclosed with a living hornbeam hedge, and there will be no fencing along the street. In this way, at least in this place, a hint of public space with the beginnings of an avenue is created. (The street could also be named "Between the Fences")

The house is a single-story, non-basement building with a simple, compact rectangular shape and a gabled roof sloping toward the street. This shape and orientation are the most economical concerning energy savings, also considering passive solar energy gain through large windows and corner glazing.
The layout is clear and straightforward. It divides the house into two parts:
  • social, open. This consists of an integrated living space with a kitchen, dining area, and living room with a fireplace. Through the glazing, the internal living space further connects with the exterior.
  • private, closed, with a bedroom, children's rooms, bathroom, and dressing room
  • garage with space for bicycles and skis, located on the northwest side of the building
The material solution corresponds to the simplicity of the floor plan - it is also simple. The external walls consist of Porotherm blocks with thermal insulation plaster and a structured, light gray surface; the openings - windows, glazed walls, and doors are made of wood, stained in a light oak shade. Wooden elements with the same surface treatment are used in the exposed structure of the roof truss and in the wooden cladding under the roof. The roofing is made of folded titanium-zinc sheet metal. In the future, a wooden terrace will be built in front of the glazed exterior walls.
The house is heated by a gas condensing boiler with a distribution system for underfloor heating.
