The new terminal for intercity boat transport "Twin City Liner" is located on the northern edge of the historic center of Vienna on the right bank of a side arm of the Danube. The 127-meter-long lattice structure by a pair of local architects, fasch&fuchs, hovers above the riverside promenade. However, the massive steel construction serves not only passengers who want to take a boat ride to Bratislava in 75 minutes, but also hosts exhibitions, social events, a café, and a restaurant (the interior of “Motto am Fluss” was designed by BEHF Architekten), and above all, from the rooftop terrace, it offers a panoramic view of the entire canal. Everyone hopes that the new terminal will become a new tourist magnet that will contribute "to improving the urban environment in the center of Vienna." The dock floats between the Schwedenbrücke and the Mariannenbrücke. Pedestrians can freely use the new structure during their walks, thus distancing themselves from the traffic noise prevailing on both sides of the waterfront. Therefore, the terminal has become a bridge between the two existing bridges, offering a covered promenade. However, the main purpose of the building remains a platform for passengers of the fast catamarans "Twin-City Liner."
