The building is located right in the center of the city of Lausanne. Its architectural design is intended to serve as a landmark for the renovated urban area of Flon.
The facade of the building - triangular "pillows" was designed by architects Brauen & Wälchli. The building is meant to appear luxurious and houses expensive shops. The "pillows" are composed of four layers, between which are three air chambers. The chambers are inflated with two different pressures. The outer layer of the "pillows" is made of a material known as PTFE – coated glass fabric. The inner layers are made of ETFE material to allow daylight to pass through. The inflated triangular "pillows" are illuminated from the interior at night. The building opened in the winter of 2007.
