Address: Friedrich Ebert Anlage 49, Frankfurt am Main, Germany
Completion:1988-91
Built Up Area:61711 m2
Built Up Space:400000 m3

American architect of German origin Helmut Jahn contributed to Frankfurt's Mainhattan with his skyscraper for the Frankfurt Trade Fair. Formally resembling a sharpened pencil, the skyscraper is fully compliant with late American postmodernism. I have not heard of any possible ecological concept for the Messeturm; it probably has none. Nevertheless, it became the tallest building in Europe at the time of its completion, but after six years it was surpassed by the neighboring Commerzbank by Norman Foster.
