The goal of the Summer House in Vajnory is to merge with the large garden.
Formally, it refers to temporary camping living concepts, garden houses, as well as traditional building in Vajnory. The result is a "troika" - a composition of three houses that form one house. The night house is divided into 4 identical parts – 3 utility bedrooms and a bathroom with an entrance. The day house is an open space with direct access to the terrace, which is the main area of the house during the warm months.
The layout scheme is strikingly simple; there is no hallway in the house and the rooms are connected directly from the main living area, like cabins.
Structurally, it is a simple brick building with a steel roof structure. The house is plastered, has wooden windows, and the roofing is made of corrugated metal. The terrace is covered with corrugated polycarbonate. Shade on the terrace is provided by fabric with reflective aluminum strips. This fabric can be adjusted to change the intensity of sunlight exposure as needed throughout the year.
The house is heated by an air heat pump, and the distribution and maintenance of heat is assisted by an accumulative floor made of polished concrete.
