The bascule weir began construction simultaneously with the Mělník weir but was completed a year later. It has two spans: the wider one was controlled by a sluice gate with folding sluices of engineer Schwarzer's system, while the narrower one was controlled by a sluice gate suspended on the lifting bridge of Liebisch's system. The movable parts of the weir were manufactured by the company Breitfeld, Daněk & Co. Literature cites Pavel Janák as the author of the architectural design.
During the modernization of the Elbe waterway, the weir was dismantled between 1972 and 1974 and replaced by a modern sector weir further downstream. Schwarzer's sluices were lowered to the riverbed, where they remain to this day, and the movable bridge was raised. In this state, the weir was declared a cultural monument.

We created an opportunity.
We hung a cube over the river, where anyone can have a sauna.
If this leads to greater interest in the structure that the sauna (sub)hangs from, it will be a good thing.
The nature of the whole event forced us to use cheap materials (partly recycled) and simple construction solutions.
The time for construction and installation did not exceed a week.
The lifespan of the structure in this location will probably not exceed two weeks.

Instructions for use:
Bring your own firewood, or you can collect dry branches in the surrounding forests. An essential prop for sauna use is a boat. Be careful when entering and especially when exiting the sauna. The current under the sauna is strong. Use one of the pillars as a resting area. Enjoy your sauna experience.
