The Ark of the Covenant, l’Arche d’Alliance in French, was a chest of acacia covered in gold leaf. It enclosed the Ten Commandments given to Moses on Mount Sinai. Located in the east of the 15th arrondissement in Paris, the church symbolizes the Ark of the Covenant.
perfect, simple volume was chosen, the cube. Its equal sides refer to the presence of the One. This shape is inserted into a metal grid, which gives a certain lightness to the building. This particular structure allows a play of light and shadow that seems to erase the pillars and the ground floor. The church seems to be floating above the ground rather than resting on a base. Thus, the building takes its place as a landmark in the heart of the city.
