Japanese Pavilion

Japanese Pavilion
Architect: Takamasa Yosizaka
Coauthor: Jūichi Ōtake
Address: Viale Giardini Pubblici, Giardini, Venice, Italy
Completion:1956

The Japanese pavilion is located in the Giardini area (Italian gardens) alongside other national pavilions. The second exhibition area is the Arsenale - a space for presenting world artists in the halls of the old Venetian shipyards. The construction of the Japanese national pavilion dates back to 1956. Its authors were architects Juichi Otake and Takamasa Yoshizaka, who, among other things, worked for two years in Le Corbusier's Paris atelier on projects for France and India. Le Corbusier's influence is evident both in the external appearance of the pavilion and in its internal functional arrangement.
