Address: Služátky 25, Pelhřimov, Czech Republic

Built Up Area:142 m2

The accommodation and restaurant complex named Farma Poříčí near Pelhřimov required the creation of an economic background at three newly built fish ponds, which will serve for the breeding of small domestic animals. The farm raises sheep and goats, chickens, guinea fowl, ducks, and rabbits. The basic idea was to create two buildings with a courtyard that sensitively concentrates breeding activities into a closed space, while at the same time showcasing some domestic animals through aviaries.
The foundation of the Farma Poříčí complex is a combination of a restaurant, café, and accommodation facility, which will be supplemented by a conference center in the future. This forms a small residential unit with arrival access, parking, and a view of the landscape. Close by, three ponds have been created, which along with the adjacent meadow invite short walks, making the placement of the economic background near these ponds logical. The shape composition utilizes the basic lines of folk architecture and uses local resources in terms of materials - stone and wood. Although historical forms are used, the building reflects an effort towards modern architecture.
The gables are clad with local stone, which is also used for the courtyard walls. The structural core of the buildings is built from aerated concrete blocks and clad with impregnated wood. The roof is a classic tied structure, and the covering consists of Cembonit in a dark gray color. One wing of the farm provides shelter for the mentioned animals, with individual areas divided by wood or fencing. The second wing is used for parking small machinery.
The proportions, materials, longitudinal displacement of both wings, creation of the courtyard, and the actual placement in the terrain create the impression that the building is emerging among the ponds and forms a unified whole with them.
