"Hour of the Lord"

"Hour of the Lord"
The family house at the foot of the Great Fatra National Park is situated on the border between built-up and rural areas. Colloquially, the house is located behind the fields, so the entire form of the building is directed towards preserving the traditional concept of rural appearance. The overall expression of the house's volume is fragmented by its roof landscape, using two types of gable roofs that graduate upwards. The material layout of the house largely draws on the forms of old storage agricultural buildings, so-called barns, located in the Turiec region.
The concept of the spatial layout is also unusual, where the entrance part of the house is part of the so-called night area. The house consists of four interconnected and open levels (raumplan) accessible via an intermediate staircase. The daytime area is part of the two highest levels, which open outward to the exterior thanks to large glass surfaces, also due to the surrounding views.
