<font>Forest Resort</font>

In the beginning, it was about saving the villa under the stone sea; the first republic villa from 1932 and the retaining wall beneath it were in poor technical condition requiring significant investment. The investor, with roots in this community and an interest in restoring the area's tourist life, decided to convert the villa into the centerpiece of the future Forest Resort complex, which includes a restaurant, accommodations, and a communal space (2017-2019). In the next phase, a collection of modern wooden structures was built into the slope, serving as individual accommodation units; as part of the technical solution for the reinforced concrete retaining walls, an extension of the storage space was also constructed into the slope (2019-2020).
In designing the reconstruction of the villa, emphasis was placed on ensuring that the original house was still perceptible in the new, more spatially demanding operation, even though only the exterior walls remained. The charm of the existing villa lay mainly in the material solution - the ground floor constructed from "rock stone" and the rest of the building, which is plastered. The newly added parts still use walls made from stones found directly on the property, but they are also materialized in a new materially distinct cladding made from cement-bonded boards; it is then evident from the result that this is a reconstructed object.
The goal of the second phase was to expand accommodation capacities; initially, a design for the individual cabin was developed, which meets the high requirements of a hotel room while allowing for various configurations. In terms of architectural expression, it was important that the cabins were structurally simple and appeared almost temporary in nature; they are wooden constructions with green roofs. Continuous modifications and additions of cabins are anticipated at the Forest Resort complex over the next few years.
