The design of the new exhibition is based on the idea of presenting the Zábřeh native Jan Welzl as a layered individual: the life story of the traveler set within a broader historical and socio-cultural context. The exhibition is based on the interpretation of Jan Welzl at various stages of his life. By creating six key themes from Welzl's life, visitors become acquainted with the polar explorer's story. The intention of the exhibition is to allow the visitor to metaphorically step into the unique world of this distinct character. We are placing the new exhibition in the attic space of the building. The attic, as a mysterious and hidden place, represents an analogy for the exciting and unknown world of the far North. This world is deliberately contrasted with the familiar and safe world of Central Europe, which can be found in the exhibition halls of the piano nobile of the burgher house. Thus, a new exhibition space is created that expands the museum's capacity and does not interfere with existing exhibition units.
