Apartment with a blue kitchen

Apartment with a blue kitchen
Completion:2020-21
Area:77 m2

The reconstructed apartment is located in Prague's Nusle, near Jezerka Park. The apartment, with an area of 77 m2, whose existing layout of 2+1 was no longer suitable, was redesigned by the owner to create a kitchen connected to the living area and, most importantly, a separate bedroom.
The newly created 3+kk is not afraid of colors or unconventional ideas. The centerpiece and central theme of the entire apartment is the dark blue color on the kitchen unit. The bold color is complemented by a delicate powdery pink, which does not compete with the vibrant blue; rather, it gently highlights and complements it. It is used, for example, on the "credenza"/bookshelf, which runs through a glazed wall separating the kitchen from the bedroom. Thanks to the glazing, we were able to brighten up the apartment and bring light into the kitchen area, which would otherwise have remained dark.
The color palette is then complemented by neutral shades of white, wooden parquet, and daring "variegated" tiles in the hallway, where the original wooden framed doors are also located. We like to preserve (if possible) some of the original elements of old apartments. Here, it is indeed the doors that we refurbished, which then create a great contrast with the new bold tiles. We enjoy contrasts like the combination of old and new.
