Clients who have been living abroad for a long time wished to modify and furnish a small apartment that they could use during their regular short-term stays in Prague. The original layout of 1+1 was modified to 2+kk. All non-load-bearing partitions were demolished, and the entire space was subsequently connected into one whole with the added volumes of the bathroom and kitchen counters with cabinets and a library. Individual rooms can be separated by sliding and folding doors, which are concealed in the paneling during regular use. The main room serves as a kitchen, dining room, living room, and parents' bedroom. A large portion of this activity is provided by a built-in podium. The second room is for the son.
Throughout the apartment, solid oak flooring is used as a unifying element, with slats of the same format appearing on the oak veneered furniture. The bathroom volume and kitchen niche are finished in yellow laminate. Both the bathroom and hallway are naturally lit by skylights. The mirrored cladding at the entrance expands the narrow entry hallway. A large amount of storage space, including a retractable TV, is realized in the elevated podium.
