Bus stop in Kořenov

The bus stop in Kořenov follows the classic village stop design – a small shelter that protects those waiting from the weather. Often these are darker spaces that may not feel very welcoming and safe for women, and dark corners also magically attract piles of trash. The new bus stop on the border of the Jizera Mountains and Krkonoš is bright during the day due to a large window facing the bus arrival, and at night it is pleasantly illuminated. The wooden structure with cut boards on the façade blends naturally into the mountain environment, while the interior is lined with planed boarding, contrasting with the coarser texture of the façade. The green roof, sloping with the road, gradually becomes overgrown with extensive greenery. The interior is complemented by a bench, a shelf for books, a trash can, and the official name of the stop. "V koleně" – a less formal, semi-transparent inscription on the glass refers to the name of the locality as known by the locals.
