Biography
Aurelio Galfetti was a Swiss architect and university professor. Together with Mario Botta and Luigi Snozzi, he was a leading representative of the so-called Ticino school. From 1956 to 1960, he studied under Prof. Paul Waltenspühl at ETH Zurich. In 1960, he opened his own architectural office in Lugano. From 1976, he was a member of the Swiss Architects Association (BSA) and the Association of German Architects (BDA). From 1970 to 1978, he collaborated on projects with L. Vacchini, L. Snozzi, R. Tami, and M. Botta. In 1996, he founded the Accademia di Architettura in Mendrisio with Mario Botta, which he led from 1996 to 2001 and served as a professor until 2006. In 1984, he was a visiting professor at EPFL in Lausanne and in 1987 he was a guest at Unité pédagogique 8 in Paris.
