Biography
Atelier LOIDL, since its founding in 1984, has maintained an open and discursive approach to the design process. The Berlin studio led by the team of Bernd Joosten, Leonard Grosch, and Felix Schwarze focuses on landscape architecture and urbanism. They approach their designs with the idea of "the city as texture." This texture is created by the combination of landscape and construction, resulting in concentration and spatial density with the aim of achieving spatial diversity. They prefer a city where architecture serves as a wall of outdoor space, supporting identification and sensory intelligence. They have several awards to their name and regularly participate in architectural competitions, notably contributing to the design of the Vltava Philharmonic alongside the studios Barozzi and M1 Architekti, who placed 2nd.
