BiographyHe studied architecture at the Czech Technical University in Brno. During his architectural and urban activities, he founded and led the archive of folk buildings in Moravia and Silesia, in which documentation of about 560 objects was collected by his students between 1946 and 1965. A selection from this collection is being published in installments as the Catalog of Folk Architecture. He collaborated with the National Theatre in Brno on the creation of stage designs and, in cooperation with the Czech Academy of Sciences and Arts, conducted research on folk architecture.
