Amin Taha is a British architect who was born in 1974 in East Berlin (to a Sudanese mother and an Iraqi father who came to the GDR to study medicine). In 1979, the family emigrated to England and subsequently returned to Abu Dhabi. He studied architecture at the University of Edinburgh. After working for several architectural firms in the UK, including Rick Mather Architects, Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands, Chris Wilkinson Architects (later WilkinsonEyre), and Zaha Hadid Architects, he founded his own architectural practice, Amin Taha Architects, in London in 2003, which later changed its name to Groupwork.
